My Visit to FMGC - Dr Patrick Chia

We were told FMGC is a very busy office and the wait can be as long as 4 hours. We did not want to take the chance and got there are early as 7.20 am and to our surprise there we already 2 patients waiting before us in front of a closed office. I was really taken a back and said to my hubby this Doc better be good. In 15 mins the office admin walks in a very sweet indian aunty. I quickly jump and and was asked to register. Thankfully I was the 1st patient to see Dr Patrick who was in by 8.20am.
Dr Patrick is a very soft spoken person so soft i had to keep my ear close to hear him. But i was say he is super detail and answered all our questions without a sigh.
He interviewed us and asked for our history from a-z. After hearing our history Dr Patrick explains recurrent miscarriages, where is says most of the time it is due to a chromosome abnormality where the body refuses to hold and expels the tissue. He further explained other reasons and my chances of a successful pregnancy in the future. He said my current chance is 60% of a successful pregnancy but we will work on making that 60% to a 80%.
He later looked at his notes and said there are a few test we can do but i can only tell which after i see your uterus and ovaries. So i hopped on and he did a trans-vaginal scan. The first thing he said when he saw my uterus  was "That's a beautiful uterus". That was the first time i ever heard such a statement but I was very happy to hear such :)
He spent a good 5-7 mins on the scan looking for anything wrong. We later go back to his desk and he tells me everything looks good, no PCOS, no scar on the uterus, uterus shape and position looks good as well. So he suggest we do a blood test to test for chromosomes abnormality called Kyrotyping. He advised us the test is costly and we both need to take the test which is RM 1K per person. We asked a few questions and decided to take the test. We both we drawn out with 2 vails of blood and was told the results will be out in 2 weeks. Based on the results Dr Patrick will decide on how to move on. The scary part of this test is, if the results are come out that we have some sort of abnormality there is nothing medically can be done to treat us. Without any hesitation I was sure the results will be good and no abnormalities. I am so sure, I felt the test was a waste of time and money but if this is what it takes then so be it.
We later paid our bill and left the office, we were ahead of time as we were done by 9.30am. We both went back to work and hope for the best.
I am very positive and I am looking forward for the results in 2 weeks and i have no doubt there is no problem with us.

And now my journey continues ….
